Windom High School Installs Aerco BMK3.0LN Low NOx Boiler
As part of an energy conservation program the Windom High School, Windom, MN recently installed a new Aerco BMK3.0LN, 3,000,000 BTU/H input, low NOx high efficiency boiler to replace the two existing steam fired heat exchangers on their heating system. This natural gas, full modulating, high efficiency, condensing hot water boiler features an industry high turndown ratio of 15:1 to match energy input directly to fluctuating system heating loads which provides the highest possible seasonal efficiency. In addition, the Aerco BMK3.0LN is fitted with a low NOx burner to reduce emissions less than 30 ppm of NOx at all firing rates.
Due to the outlines of the energy conservation program the Aerco BMK3.0 LN was selected based on the excellent turndown ratio and highest seasonal efficiency available in the market. Even though other boiler manufacturers were originally considered for the project, these benefits, along with the compact footprint (79” high x 28” wide x 64” deep) lowered the installation costs by allowing entry through a standard service door which eliminated any additional construction costs due to wall or roof modification commonly required by other boiler manufactureres.
The Windom High School boiler was installed by Holm Bros. Plumbing & Heating Co. of Atwater, Minnesota. The Construction Manager for the project is Honeywell Inc.
