Replacement Condensate Receivers
Midwest Tank Co. manufactures a variety of condensate tanks. Many of their tanks are replacing existing leaking units that were designed without corrosion allowance. Midwest Tank begins with a 1/4-inch minimum thickness on all sizes of condensate receiver and often us 3/8-inch. When buying a system with pumps and motors don't forget that the tank is an integral part of the sytem. You can protect your system by buying a tank with corrosion allowance from Midwest Tank Co.
The capacity of the condensate tank should be 25% of the output of the boiler or 25% of the steam requriement so the boiler can produce the output of the boiler for approximatly 15 minutes without adding any makeup water to the tank. The tank must also be elevated to create a positive head on the feed water pump.
